We are seeking a motivated Tax Staff Accountant with internship experience or up to 1 year in public accounting to join our dynamic tax team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in tax compliance and a passion for helping clients navigate complex tax regulations.

Established in 1981, WhippleWood is now part of Money Forward, a global leader in cloud-based financial and back-office solutions. As an alternative-style CPA firm, we serve a wide variety of small to medium-sized businesses and nonprofits, pairing technology-forward tools with high-touch advisory and tax services.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of federal and state tax returns
- Interaction with clients to discuss tax issues and new tax service opportunities
- Coordination of client services
- Collaborate with senior staff on tax planning and strategy development
- Communicate effectively with clients to address inquiries and provide support
- Assist in special projects and other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting (a master's in accounting or tax is a plus)
- CPA license or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam
- Proficient accounting skills
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills-Excel, Word, and Outlook
- QuickBooks experience a plus
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to enable effective interaction with all levels of personnel
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Superior analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to provide exceptional client service through a sense of urgency and commitment to quality

Schedule
- Monday to Friday (standard schedule)
- Weekends as needed, primarily during busy season (January–April)
